We are happy to announce that we have proudly celebrated the graduation of our very first cohort.

As the curtain rises on a new season at Bargad, we are excited to share the incredible developments and creative journeys that have been unfolding within our community. From inspiring performances to innovative workshops, our students and faculty have been hard at work embracing their passion for the arts.

From hands-on training to new plays in development, from alumni achievements to finding the next generation of talent - here’s a glimpse of what’s been happening under the shade of the Bargad tree.

Post Programme Initiatives

In our previous blog, we introduced Bargad ka Chabutra, a vital post-programme initiative designed to nurture original work by Bargad Fellows and collaborators.

We are thrilled to announce the first recipients of the Bargad ka Chabutra Production Grant: two dynamic new plays, Maanu ke Sapne and Hawa Mahal! Both productions are now in full rehearsal and are slated for their public debut by March 2026.

This journey from a seedling idea to production worthy play, has been slow, steady, and truly full of heart.

Our Bargad Masterclass Series continues to thrive. Started as a post-fellowship space for continued learning, the series has brought together our graduated fellows and mentors for sessions on:

  • Clowning with Shreeram Chaudhari

  • How to Take Workshops with Neel Chaudhuri

  • CV Writing with Kiana Manian and Shambhavi Singh

  • How to Pitch your Show with Vivek Madan and Saatvika Kantamneni

  • Pre-Show Workshop with Deepa D

  • Music with Shivangini Yeashu Yuvraj

  • Self-Defence with Prerna Laddha

  • Designing Workshops for Children with Amrita Lalljee

These sessions serve as a powerful reminder that the fellowship is not an end point, but a platform for deeper, ongoing learning. The opportunity to see our Fellows reconvene – to explore, share, and continue their growth – has been an absolute joy for the school.
